In this second article, I want to share about reason to be a vegan. Before I make this question, I posted it first at my groups, vegan group, and we have been discussing it. Majority of them said that, it just because of the health issues, environment and the great reason is Being vegetarian not about what I don't eat, it is about what I do eat.
I think, just a few of people realize about those reason, especially the last reason, of course I am. I never want to persuade all of the people to become a vegan because I am not a good one in this way. I just really interested about this topic and I have a positive point of view about people who have a vegetarianism ways, especially, if they do it in their daily life. Because of my curiosity about veganism, that was why, I feel so interested about this “fabulous ways”. I call it fabulous because of the fantastic thing and a daring decision to being a vegan. I think, a dare decision need a strong reason to built a great foundation and of course give a pleasant result………..
One of the members gave a recommendation to read a book about nutritional for vegan by T.Colin Campbell. Afterwards, I find it out directly at google. And I got the fabulous book, I got a free book of course, but it contains of cool information about nutrition. T. Colin Campbell, who is Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, has had a long career in research, teaching and development of national/international on diet, nutrition and health. This book contains of four part. The first part is concern on the china study, based on the Cornell-Oxford-China Study (the "China Project"), the most comprehensive survey of the connection between diet and disease in world medical history. Next chapter talk about disease of affluence and the third is the good nutrition guide and the last is strange news that we don’t know yet before. For more information, please follow this link
The Standard American Diet (SAD) is overloaded with protein, fat, sodium, etc.; and is "underloaded" with whole grains, fruits and vegetables. I think it has similarity in my lovely country, Indonesian. That is true, all of the people more interested about junk food because the simple ways to get. Just imagine what will happen in our body if we addicted with It.
When I realize about the impacts, I really think about what can I do to make it better at least I do not addicted with junk food as a monster in our body. However, I proud to be Indonesian because in Indonesia has many kinds of nutrition that I can get easily in the traditional market even in the organic market. It depends on the budget. As we know, majority of the organic market has an expensive price. But, being a vegan is not about the budget or where you buy the vegetables or how expensive they are. For me, it is all about big willingness and respecting the body. In fact, we need a big budget to buy red meat or junk food than dark green vegetable such as, spinach and broccoli. Junk food creates a big possibility to get an obes, hypertension, even cancer in our body but broccoli, spinach or another dark green vegetable absolutely, built calcium nutrient and others vitamin in the body.
Hmm… I completely have a big optimism for write the next article about lacto ovo vegan..
Hope, it can be a good news..
